Yuki Sumner is a British Japanese architectural critic, writer and curator, championing inclusive design. Yuki obtained a master’s degree in architectural history from UCL Bartlett in 2012, since then she has been preoccupied by happenings in rural Japan.

With her photographer husband, Edmund Sumner, Yuki has produced and co-authored a definitive book on Japanese contemporary architecture featuring over 100 built projects. Entitled "New Architecture in Japan," the book, published by Merrell Publishers in 2010, was a culmination of research work conducted over a period of around 8 years.

Over a career spanning for more than 20 years, Yuki has worked with many art organisations, universities and international fairs, curating shows, running workshops and organising events. Her specialist interest in ruralism has recently led her to curate a show for London Design Biennale 2023 and organise a day-long symposium at Architectural Association.
