Longtime JBT client, tour leader and friend, Dr Anne Macalister, is our next Human in the World.
Hailing from Lanarkshire near Glasgow, where she was a GP for over 30 years, Anne is an avid traveler with perennial enthusiasm for life's experiences. Anne travelled on the first tour that Jon Baines ever led, back in the 1990s. It was a rich and eventual journey, including an unscheduled landslide on a mountain road on the Karakoram Highway, an adventure they handled with poise and ingenuity. Anne has gone on to travel on many, many JBT tours since that first exciting tour, and has also become a very popular tour leader.
Now retired, Anne had always had an interest in all alternative medicine, with special interest and post graduate training in homeopathy, acupuncture and hypnotherapy. She also worked as a doctor at rock concerts and has travelled extensively all over the world.
Anne had become a firm friend over these years. We love her for her humour and zest for life, her compassion and generosity, and her shared love of travel - and now that she is retired, Anne spends much of her time doing just that!
