The tour includes a wide range of medical history visits, from Edinburgh, to the highlands and islands of Scotland, and finishing in Glasgow.

Learn of the history and current medical practice in Scotland today and meet with local surgeons and other medical pracitioners.

Learn about Edinburgh’s Enlightenment before travelling via Dumfermline, to Aberdeen, Inverness, Loch Ness and the haunting battleground at Culloden. Cross the highlands to the magnificent Isle of Skye. Drive through Glencoe, past the Trossachs and Loch Lomond to Glasgow.

Guided walking tour of Old Town Edinburgh with historian, Sheila Szatkowski, author of 'Enlightenment Edinburgh'. Learn of the histories of the scientists, doctors, midwives and nurses in Scotland. Visit Surgeons Hall, Wohl Pathology Museum, History of Surgery Museum and Dental Collection, guided by the curator. Drinks reception and dinner with former VP of RCS Edinburgh.

Travel to Loch Ewe and visit the small museum to learn of its naval history. Meet a member of the Russian Arctic Convoy Project and learn of Loch Ewe and the Arctic Convoys. Visit Attadale House and take tea with its Lady Laird and visit the famous gardens. See Eilean Donan Castle, situated on a small tidal island where Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh meet. Overnight at Arisaig House.

Early start to travel down the west coast to see Glenfinnann Viaduct. Continue to Fort William. Drive past Ben Nevis to Glencoe and learn of its tragic history. Scenic drive through the Trossachs National Park and along the shores of Loch Lomond before arriving in Glasgow.
